img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;3\/4&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3>A pool of banks led by UniCredit provides a EUR 46m green loan mini-perm project financing to Futura\u2019s group for the construction of an advanced agri-voltaic plant integrated with a BESS system<\/h3>\n<p><em>1st ever advanced agri-voltaic plant with an integrated BESS system financed in Italy through a project financing scheme.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The agrivoltaic plant with expected entry in operation by 2026, will produce yearly 85GWh as clean energy in accordance with the Green New Deal targets.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Milano, 17 October 2025 &#8211; UniCredit, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, BPER, Banco di Sardegna and Banca<br \/>\nIfigest successfully closed a EUR 46m green loan mini-perm project financing in favor of a special purpose<br \/>\nvehicle fully owned by Futura group.<\/p>\n<p>The mini-perm financing, certified as Green Loan in accordance with the \u201cGreen Loan Principles\u201d, aims at<br \/>\nsupporting the construction and commissioning of an advanced agrivoltaic plant, with a total capacity of<br \/>\napproximately 45MWp, combined with a battery energy system with a 48MWh capacity.<\/p>\n<p>This pioneer project is deemed to be pivotal for the energy transition and for the Italian and regional electricity<br \/>\nsystem stability, combining the grazing and livestock activities within the agrivoltaic facility, ensuring economic<br \/>\nand environmental benefits to both the agricultural activity and renewable production, maximizing the related<br \/>\nsynergies.<\/p>\n<p>The advanced agrivoltaic plant, integrated with a BESS system, is expected to reach has an expected annual<br \/>\nproduction of approximately 85 GWh, is able to cover the energy consumption needs of around 30,000 Italian<br \/>\nhouseholds. Once in operation, the project will avoid over 18,000 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions per year,<br \/>\ncorresponding to a total reduction of more than 450,000 tons of CO2 equivalent over the plant lifetime.<\/p>\n<p>The cutting-edge asset based project finance transaction was originated, structured and coordinated by<br \/>\nUniCredit as Global Coordinator &amp; Bookrunner, Structuring Mandated Lead Arranger, Original Lender,<br \/>\nSustainability Coordinator and Hedging Bank and underwritten also by Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena,<br \/>\nBPER, Banco di Sardegna acting as Mandated Lead Arrangers, Original Lenders and Hedging Banks and<br \/>\nBanca Ifigest acting as Mandated Lead Arranger, Original Lenders and Account Bank, with BPER also acting<br \/>\nas Account Bank &amp; Agent.<\/p>\n<p>The agri-voltaic plant, currently under advanced construction phase and expected to be in operation by mid<br \/>\n2026, is eligible to benefit from the GSE Contract for Difference (CfD) scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Simone Micheletti, CEO and founder, jointly with Bruno Fisi, stated: <em>&#8220;This project, successfully finalized thanks<\/em><br \/>\n<em>to the experience and significant track record of Futura Group, and in particular of our Chief Financial Officer<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Francis Ravano, represents a pioneer project for the industry. Two days packed with presentations, technical discussions, and roundtable discussions involving institutions, businesses, financial institutions, and stakeholders in the energy sector.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, <strong>CEO Simone Micheletti<\/strong> presented the <strong>Sardinia Bio Methane project<\/strong>, recently admitted to the <strong>fifth GSE auction<\/strong> under the PNRR (National Renewable Energy Network). The project aims to leverage the organic resources available in the region, with a particular focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most significant aspects is the expected synergy with the already operational solid biomass power plant of <strong>Sardinia Bio Energy Srl<\/strong>. Today it employs around 200 people in Sardinia. The plant owned by Sardinia Solar Energy 2, which will be built on an industrial site of approximately 21 hectares, will have an installed capacity of approximately 20 megawatts capable of producing approximately 41 gigawatts\/hour of energy from solar sources each year, avoiding the emission of over 21 thousand tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year, covering the energy needs of approximately 15 thousand families with 100% renewable energy and also avoiding the import and consumption of significant quantities of fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p>The use of bifacial photovoltaic modules with single-axis tracking has allowed us to maximize the production of clean energy while minimizing land use.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are happy to consolidate our presence in the territory with the construction of this plant and to strengthen our structure in the Autonomous Region of Sardinia with further staff hires&#8221; says Simone Micheletti, CEO of the group.
